Who We Help

WHO WE HELP

Different organizations. Different realities.

Toolbox Learning & Innovation works with organizations that help people learn, create, connect, and participate.

The environments may be different, but many organizations are navigating the same larger shifts: evolving technology, changing community needs, and new expectations for how people learn and participate.

THE COMMON THREAD

The work starts with people.

Schools, nonprofits, community organizations, and media organizations operate differently. Their resources, responsibilities, audiences, and goals are not the same.

That matters.

See How We Work →

We don’t begin by assuming that something that worked in one environment should simply be copied into another. We look at the people you serve, what matters to them, what you’re trying to do, what already exists, and what might need to change.

The right solution should make sense for your organization, your purpose, and the people you serve.

01 — SCHOOLS & EDUCATION

Create learning people can connect with.

We work with schools, educators, after-school and enrichment programs, and other learning organizations to design experiences that are practical, engaging, accessible, and responsive to how people learn today.

That may include project-based learning, media and digital literacy, creative technology, educator development, learning spaces, and programs that help learners build confidence, skills, and curiosity.

02 — NONPROFITS

Make the mission work in practice.

Nonprofits are often balancing ambitious goals with limited time, staff, and resources. We help organizations strengthen programs, introduce technology thoughtfully, reach new audiences, build staff capacity, and redesign learning or community experiences so they are easier to deliver and more useful to the people they serve.

03 — COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS

Build opportunity around the people already there.

Community organizations are often closest to the people, relationships, and realities that shape whether a program works. We help libraries, community centers, workforce organizations, youth-serving groups, neighborhood organizations, municipalities, and other community-based initiatives design learning, technology, and engagement opportunities around those realities.

The goal isn’t to import a model from somewhere else. It’s to build something that fits the community, the resources available, and what people actually need.

04 — MEDIA & COMMUNITY MEDIA

Rethink what a media organization can make possible.

We help media and community media organizations think beyond traditional programming and production to the broader role they can play in their communities.

That may include media literacy, production education, digital access, emerging technology, studios and labs, membership learning, workforce pathways, and new ways to connect people with media, technology, creativity, and opportunity.

NOT SURE WHERE YOU FIT?

That’s okay. Start with what you’re trying to change.

You don’t need to fit neatly into a category—or arrive with a finished idea. Tell us what you’re seeing, what you want to make possible, or where you’re getting stuck.
